White Lace Flower.

Daniel and I have been getting everything ready for the baby's arrival. We are finally all set! Now just anxiously awaiting for her to decide it's time for her Earthside debut! I'm just two days away from being 38 weeks and doctor says it could be anytime now. Had a couple contractions so far and baby is in position! I'm so ready to do this. Pregnancy gets pretty rough at the end, especially in this miserable heat. Everything is swollen, everything hurts, there's no being comfortable, there's not much sleep....I'm just ready for the next chapter, being a Mama to this sweet little girl in my belly. I have been doing my best to feel put together and pretty. Thank god for lipstick, it really does the trick for me without really having to deal with makeup. I haven't really felt like putting much on between being this big and all the sweating in this heat. I'm wearing MAC's Russian Red.

Daniel has been spoiling me the last few months. He surprised me back in July with these funky clogs. I am betting they will look even better when my ankles aren't the size of an elephant's. HAHA. A couple days ago he busted out this great Marc Jacobs Crossbody bag. I have been wanting a small black bag with gold hardwear ever since Alexander Wang lost my Pelican Sling Bag. He sure does know how to make a girl feel special. It also gives me some stuff to look forward to wearing to leave the house. I don't want to become a total hermit after the baby gets here.

I can't believe I am so close to meeting this little one! I cannot express how badly I want to see her precious face and hold her tiny hand. She is measuring in the 50th percentile so she's perfectly average, not too big, not too small. And the doctor says she has long legs like her Daddy. I hope she comes out soon!

Mad for Plaid.

Today I'm officially one month from my due date. Only 4 weeks to go. I am getting so insanely anxious to welcome this little one into the world. It's getting a little rough at this point, being this pregnant and it being so hot. Airy dresses have become my go to. This dress is great, I just throw it on and it's so comfortable. I love the black and white ensemble with a red lip and some edgy accessories. My puffy feet only fit into a handful of my shoes. It's been so humid for LA and is making my hands and feet swell. I can't wear my wedding ring anymore. But my nails have never been so long and so strong. I did this nail design myself, I was inspired by one I saw on Refinery 29

I am looking forward to fall. I can't wait to have my baby girl, a waist, to wear jeans and sweaters, Halloween (my fave)...I've been trying to decide what our sweet baby girl should be for her first Halloween, maybe get her a little hat with kitty ears! I can't wait to experience life through her eyes.
It's funny that now I'm looking forward to labor. At the beginning I was dreading this part and even in denial, but now I'm just ready. She's 6 lbs and 20 inches in there and I'm dying to see her little face, hold her and kiss her. She will be here so soon!!!!!! I'm counting down the days...

Beach Bliss.

Nothing quite relieves me of the heat, aches & pains like a dip in the ocean. It has been my pregnancy savior. After a day at the beach I feel so relaxed, rested and blissful. I know it can be intimidating and a little uncomfortable for a pregnant woman to dress for the beach, and it took me some time to figure out what I feel good in. Since you are more sensitive to the sun when you're pregnant, I always slather on sunscreen, bring a hat and set up an umbrella so I can control how much sun I get. As far as what to wear, finding a good cover-up is important. I love this airy, scarf print one. It dances in the wind. I can't help feeling beautiful, feminine and romantic in it. Then comes the tricky part, the swimsuit...There are so many maternity one pieces and tankinis out there, but almost all of them are halter tops. I am a bosomy woman and anything tying behind my neck is a nightmare that leaves me with a killer headache. I decided to dare to bare it all. I already had this amazing bikini top by Chloe Sevigny and Opening Ceremony, so I decided to just get some comfy, inexpensive bottoms. I went with the side tie so I could adjust them as my belly grew and wouldn't have to worry about them digging in anywhere. Not only do I feel free in the beach breeze in this, but I have the support I need and everything stays put, even when I dive under the waves. I also enjoy having my belly bare - I like thinking she can feel the waves and sunshine. Sure there a bits of me that jiggle as a walk in the sand, but I try not to think about it. The ocean is so healing, inspiring and powerful I forget about my body. Rising and falling with the incoming swells and watching dolphins swim by in the distance brings me peace and harmony. I can't get enough of the majestic Pacific Ocean.

Ultraviolence.

Happy Friday!
Summertime, summertime, how I love and hate you. As you can tell from the title of this post I've been listening to some Lana Del Rey. I usually love the summer and make an effort to have many adventures during this time of year. But being pregnant really puts a damper on my summer dreams. A day at the beach is about all the adventure I can handle these days. Being as comfortable as possible is pretty much my priority at all times. I was lucky enough to score this super soft jersey dress from the Mara Hoffman sample sale a few weeks back. This dress is really loose and drapey and I even fit into my normal size small so I will be able to rock this in future summers when I'm not pregnant. I love the black background and bright colors of this print - it screams summertime. Just wearing it makes me feel like I am on vacation. I've had these Marc Jacobs patent leather sling backs for years. I can't believe that even after years of wear and tear they still look good as new. My straw hat, sunnies and punchy lips just finish the look. It's so easy and breezy but packs some punch and fun. This look definitely brightens my mood.
I'm 32 weeks today, only 8 more to go! Baby girl will be here before I know it. I'm getting sad about her not being in my belly anymore. It's so special feeling her moving around and sharing my vessel with her. But on the bright side I cannot wait to see what she looks like, hold her in my arms and kiss that sweet little face of hers about a million times. I also look forward to having a waist again. I have strangely been daydreaming about post-pregnancy workouts. Haha. I'm a very physical person and being weighed down like this is tiring. I love yoga and walking but I crave getting a good sweat on. I'm thinking of trying kickboxing or a hip-hop dance class. I just want to move.

My Bohemian Soul.

I am entering my third trimester and that belly is getting BIG. Sleeping has become a little hard to come by and I am retaining water like it's my job (forgive the all around puffiness). But overall still feeling pretty good. My energy level is great - I've been doing 2.5 mile walks 3-4 times a week, yoga, cardio and strength training, and I swim whenever I get the opportunity. My appetite is getting more voracious everyday and I'm just starting to feel very pregnant.
My 29th birthday is coming up, I can't believe it's my last birthday before I am a mother. I am going to make sure to make my friends have some cocktails in my honor. Life is such a wild, unexpected, amazing ride. You really never know where it's going to take you. I am just strapped in and excited about what's around the corner. You have to go with the flow, ride the waves and take it all with stride.
I found this Gap Maternity Dress on sale with my Mom last week. It's the softest, stretchiest, comfiest thing around. I am hoping I'll be able to sport it post-pregnancy with a belt. The long, heather grey dress is a little plain for me - so I definitely felt the need to spice it up with some bold accessories. Summer always brings out my inner flower child - bohemian and this red, suede fringe bag has come back into rotation. It's just the accessory to bring my hippie attitude to any summer ensemble. I love how daring and carefree it is. It makes me want to go on long walks through nature, watch the sun set over the ocean, feel the wind blow in my hair, wear a crown of fresh picked flowers, dance to the music in my heart, and just generally embrace that old bohemian soul of mine.

Little Black Maternity Dress.

My apologies, it's been nearly a week since my last post, but I have finally been able to write! It's been hard to get my head in the game the last couple months. I think it's because there's a million and one changes happening to me, physically, mentally and emotionally. I've just been trying to process it all. I feel like I am starting to get a grip on the new me and all the things headed my way.  I just really want to be the best version of myself when I enter motherhood in September. I know I'm about to face a lot of challenges that I can't even fathom right now. Don't worry I am also trying to get in as much fun as a can while it's just Daniel and I. As you can see my second trimester is coming to an end, this is the last week, then it's third trimester time for me and baby girl.
Both of my sister-in-laws wore this black dress while they were pregnant and they sent it to me and insisted I keep up the tradition. I am so glad that they did, because this dress is amazing. It's really soft, comfortable and flattering. I wish it wasn't about to heat up to summer temperatures so I could keep wearing it. I love basic black, it's the perfect canvas for me to play around with my two obsessions: accessories and lipstick. I love these turquoise and gold earrings with a red lip, I can't get enough. I also love throwing my hair into these messy, milkmaid braids. It's so nice having my hair up when it's warm out and there's something so fun and whimsical about them that I just adore.
Happy Friday!!! Yay for the weekend!!!
