Big Sur Part 2: The Open Road.

Here are some more snaps from our lovely little 48 hour road trip from LA to Monterey and back.
It's truly a beautiful drive up Pacific Coast Highway. I feel so lucky to live in California near this magnificent coastline. I already want to go again! It's so fun driving along and spontaneously deciding to stop to have a little adventure and explore. I love the woods and the ocean and it really is the best of both worlds. I've got three months left to try to squeeze in some more fun before the baby gets here and I plan to make the most of our last months as just a family of two, before we start a lifetime of an adventure as parents.

Big Sur.

For our one year anniversary Daniel and I decided to drive up the coast - visiting Big Sur & Monterey. Unfortunately we brought the camera but forgot the camera cards, so we had to snap all of our photos with our iPhones. We took PCH and opted to pull off the road whenever we felt the urge to take in the view or go for an impromptu exploration. The California coastline is majestic to say the least. The rugged terrain breaking off to meet the deep blue sea really just doesn't get old even after five hours of driving. I loved how wild the land still is, so many miles untouched by human intervention, just raw nature doing it's thing. It feels so good to get out of LA and connect with the Earth again. It reminds me how beautiful and stunning life is - and knowing that there is still bits of Earth unspoiled brings me a lot of peace, especially as a Mother to be. I hope I can instill into my daughter a love of nature and animals. I really want her to love the outdoors and feel a connection with this planet. I am nearly six months pregnant now. I will be full term in 14 short weeks. I am so glad I had this capey top and these maternity shorts from Asos to wear on our adventures. Sitting can get uncomfortable at this point, so it was imperative that my clothes on the drive be super comfy and nonrestrictive. I felt great in this look - relaxed, happy and charming in my polka dots and cut offs. It was ideal for long hours in the car and impromptu adventure.
