Baby Let Me Follow You Down.

Yesterday Daniel and I went to visit some friends at Shangri-La Studios in Malibu. It was so magical to be at such a historic location. The creative forces on the property are beyond magical and grand; Bob Dylan and The Band, The Rolling Stones, Van Morrison, Eric Clapton and Johnny Cash(just to name a few) have all recorded albums there. And more recently Adele recorded portions of 21 there. With the old tour bus of Bob Dylan and The Band parked on the lawn and converted into a second recording studio and the ocean just across the street it's impossible not to feel relaxed and inspired.
 THE Tour Bus.

 Inside the studio:

Daniel sitting at the mixing board.

The piano Adele played 21 on.
A tendril of Daniel's beautiful hair. Me being a poser.

After we were hungry. So we went to enjoy burgers and stare at the sea.

I never posted about Valentine's Day. It was lovely, we listened to records most of the day and Daniel surprised me with a sunset horseback ride next to the Hollywood sign. Swoooooon.

Memories, Romance & Whimsy.

 6 Things on my Coffeetable:

1. Tiny, little copy of Ernest Hemingway's The Snows of Kilimanjaro. I got it as a little gift for Daniel for Hanukkah at TENOVERSIX on Melrose. I just couldn't resist.

2. I got this card when I went for my most recent massage. My masseuse had a spread of cards and I chose this one. I think it's pretty perfect. Always try to find the love, no matter where you are.

3. Couples by Roger Handy & Karin Elsener. It's a collection of found photos of all sorts of couples from all sorts of decades. This a birthday present I got for Daniel. I wrote a note to him inside from our cats.

 4. I found this antique lighter at the Melrose Trading Post. It looks just like the one Elizabeth Taylor uses in Mike Nichols' film, Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf? which is one of my favorite films of all time.

 5. My grandma's ashtray from the 1960s. I am obsessed with the sixties: music, films, fashion, books...times were changing, along with attitudes, feelings and values. The social and political issues were inspiring all kinds of art and thought...I'm rambling...this ashtray, with it's geometrical bubbles reminds me that I am my own limits. And it once belonged to my lovely granny, whom was a kindred spirit.

 6. My adorable bestie Kenzie painted this little porcelain pot for me. Alice in Wonderland is one of my favorite stories EVER. So you can imagine my delight when she presented me with this little gem. I found it to be the perfect size for storing some of my bullet shells. I love shooting guns.

I will leave you with one of my favorite Alice in Wonderland quotes:

DOORKNOB:
You almost went out like a candle.
